Orvieto
Orvieto is a town perched on volcanic rock about an hour outside of Rome. N was giving a lecture so I had lots of time to explore. The holes in the rock are in caves underneath the city. Everyone thought they were for storing wine, but no, they served as roosts for pigeons, which were a main source of food through the years.

Screw-Post Photo Album

This is a standard photo album design with strange paper: child priests and brides. It anticipates the added thickness when you put in photos by folding each page over just at the end in the binding section (as you can see from the side view). I made this in a workshop, but you can buy kits at Papersource.
